Fall Occasions Stamp-a-Stack

Splendor1

This is one of the cards that we'll be making at the Fall Occasions Stamp-a-Stack this weekend.  Class participants will be making 10 cards, 2 each of 5 different designs.

The card above features the Autumn Splendor stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I already have several leaf and/or tree stamp sets, but this one is definitely becoming one of my favorites!

I randomly stamped the leaves in Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, and More Mustard on the top 2/3 of Very Vanilla card stock.  I punched the circle out with the 1-3/4" circle punch, stamped the greeting from Heard from the Heart at the bottom, and tied 5/8" Chocolate grosgrain ribbon around the card stock before adhering it to the Really Rust card.

But the really neat thing about this card is the SHIMMER!!!  I stamped the maple leaf in More Mustard ink onto Very Vanilla card stock, then cut it out.  I used a Stampin' Sponge with just a tiny, tiny bit of Champagne Mist Shimmer paint to make it sparkle and shine.  So pretty!!!

Splendorcu

Again, I've had people ask if I would do this card class as a Stamps by Mail for those unable to attend.  Because I use many different stamp sets and accessories in my classes, it would be very difficult to offer this particular class that way.  So, I'll make you the same offer as last month.....

You can order the electronic instructions only for $5 and these will be emailed to you within 24 hours/

Instuctions Only

And just in case, you need to see one more card before you order......

Splendor2

This card uses the same stamp set and many of the same colors, plus it features the gorgeous Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper.

Have a fabulous week!  I'll be back soon with more fabulous ideas for Fall.

Fancy Folds Class

Fancyfolds

I'm truly thrilled with the enthusiastic response to this class.  At this point, I only have 2 more spots available in the Friday, August 28th class.  If you live in the Kokomo, IN area, be sure to reserve your spot before this Friday!

I've been contacted by several people that live too far away about whether I would offer this as a class by mail kit.  Stampin' Up! is very clear about the rules for selling kits and I don't think that this class would be suitable as a class kit by mail due to the fact that there are numerous stamp sets needed to complete the 5 card designs.

However, you can receive the set of electronic instructions only for $5.  These will arrive in your inbox on Monday, August 31st.

Electronic Instructions Only

Today, I am featuring a Tri-Shutter Fold card with the Razzle Dazzle stamp set and Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series paper.  This card is a real stunner, and yet it is fairly simple to make.  I found another great  tutorial on SCS that helped tremendously in creating the card base.

Tomorrow, I'll feature another card from the Fancy Folds class.....stay tuned!

Ooops!

Today, I'm featuring the last 2 cards from my retirement Stamp-a-Stack class.  I meant to do this sooner, but my parents came for a visit and I ran out of time.

The first card was made with the stamp set, The Free and The Brave.  I used a torn piece of scrap paper to mask off a section of glossy white cardstock, then brayered color onto the corners.  Riding Hood Red and Night of Navy classic ink was used.  I allowed the cardstock to dry for a few minutes, then stamped the image with Night of Navy ink onto the glossy white cardstock.

Here is the list of supplies:

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Glossy White, Kraft, Riding Hood Red*, Night of Navy

Accessories:  Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon*, Brayer, Dimensionals

Freebrave

This next card was by far my favorite!  I'm not sure that I'm going to part with this stamp set....it's just too cute!

The background was wheeled with the See You Around jumbo wheel.  The lion image was stamped 3 times---full strength in More Mustard, stamped off one time in More Mustard, and full strength in Pumpkin Pie.  I then pieced the lion together to add dimension.

A Chocolate Chip marker was used to add accents to the giraffe and lion.

Two Friends are Better than One!

Today's card features not one, but TWO retiring stamp sets:  Doodle This and Hugs & Wishes!  I created the flower image by using the Embossed Reinker Spread technique (try saying that fast three times!).  Patty Bennett has a wonderful video tutorial on her blog, so check it out.  I was a bit heavy handed with my reinkers on this card, but the effect was still lovely.  I cut out two flowers, then layered them together with a gold brad.  They shimmer, too!

Goodbye to Some Old Friends

This week, I am going to introduce you to a few of my "old friends" before they retire and go away forever.  I've been having a bit of a creative block lately, but I had to design 5 cards for my Stamp-a-Stack class last week.  I decided to use all retiring stamp sets and I forgot how much I once loved them.....a few of them had a very thick layer of dust on their cases.  The great thing is that I fell in love all over again and I think that my creative MOJO is returning.  Hopefully I can inspire some of you to dust off those old, forgotten stamp sets and fall in love all over again.  Or maybe, you'll find something that you can't live without and have to order it before June 30th.

Check out the Last Chance List to view a complete listing of the retiring stamp sets.

Here For You

I hope you've enjoyed the sneak peek at this week's Stamp-a-Stack cards.  This one is definitely my favorite!!!

Flourishcard

The background was wheeled with Night of Navy ink using the Friendly Words jumbo wheel.  The flourish and "here for you" are from the Friends 24-7 stamp set.  Both images were stamped with Night of Navy ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  The greeting was punched out with the designer label punch.  I cut one end off the Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware with my neglected Craft & Rubber scissors, then tied navy grosgrain ribbon onto the other end.  As a finishing touch, I used a stampin' sponge to add color to the edges of the cardstock.

Another Stamp-a-Stack Preview

Brownfriendcard

Here is another card that we will be making at the Stamp-a-Stack class on Friday night.  I used the Friends 24-7 stamp set and Bella Bleu designer series paper again....just changed the colors up a little.

  2. Adhere 4" x 5-1/4" Kraft cardstock to front of Very Vanilla card.
  3. Cut Bella Bleu designer series paper to 2" x 4" and adhere to bottom portion of Kraft cardstock.

  5. Ink floral stamp with Chocolate Chip ink, stamp off one time, and then stamp in center of Very Vanilla oval.
  6. Stamp "the happiest business...." in Chocolate Chip ink (full strength) on top of floral image.
