Super Hero

Everyday Hero

You've got to love a card with a loud pop of color!  Today, I've paired the Everyday Hero stamp set with this week's sketch from Mojo Monday to create a colorful comic book-style card.

Mpjp479

I started by die-cutting my background pieces and focal point layers with the Big Shot.  I stamped the dotted background onto the Pacific Point circle, the Real Red strip, and the Crushed Curry sunburst in their coordinating colors.  I stamped the cityscape image in Basic Black ink onto the Smoky Slate card stock at the bottom of the card.

Super Hero

The hero image was stamped in Basic Black Archival ink onto Whisper White card stock, then colored with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen.  The sentiments were stamped in various colors ~ this stamp set has a lot of sentiments that you can easily mix and match.

You're Incredible

  everydayhero

I am really digging this new comic book-style stamp set called Everyday Hero.  I'll be sharing several samples with you this week.  This first one uses this week's sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.

CTS_203

I started by stamping the cityscape image in Basic Black ink onto Smoky Slate card stock.  I fussy cut around the top edge and added some highlights to the windows with a Whisper White watercolor pencil.  The sentiment and speech balloon were stamped in Basic Black and Real Red ink directly onto the Whisper White card front.

wow

The superhero is composed of 3 different stamps layered to create the flying image.  I colored first with the watercolor pencils, then blended with a blender pen.  The image was fussy cut and popped up on the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

you're incredible

Another Carousel Birthday

Hold your horses!  Can you believe I've posted to my blog 2 days in a row?  Actually, I've got a pretty full month of projects to share so make sure you hit that little subscribe button.  I don't want you to miss anything!

FMS Final 269-001

I'm still trying to catch up on the birthday cards and this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches inspired me to keep it quick & simple.  Since I still had the Carousel Birthday stamp set on my desk, it was an easy choice to decide what to use.

carouselfms269

I started by stamping the carousel horse image and sentiment in Basic Black archival ink onto Very Vanilla card stock.  To add some color to the horse, I scribbled some watercolor pencils in Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, and Calypso Coral over the image.  Next, I used a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to blend the color and soften the lines.  This gave the image a watercolor look and a tiny bit of shimmer.

I completed the card by adding the Bermuda Bay-stamped "birthday" over the sentiment, some Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper along the edge, and a few embellishments (ribbon & paper bow) from the coordinating embellishment kit.

You'll find the complete list of supplies below.

Carousel Birthday & Catalog Updates

carouselbirthday

Well, I'm back.......I think.  I needed to take a little time off to finish some projects around the house and to enjoy the holidays with my family.  Unfortunately, my husband and I both got the stomach flu on Christmas Eve.  As if that wasn't bad enough, the sickness transformed into some sort of head cold from hell.  I'm finally starting to feel human, just in time for Sale-a-Bration to begin!  If you are one of my current customers, I hope you received your Occasions catalog and Sale-a-Bration brochures in the mail during December.  If not, let me know.  And if you aren't a current customer and would like to become one, message me and I'll be glad to send you complimentary copies as well.

Mojo478

There are sooooooooo many amazing new stamps & accessories available starting today, that it was hard to choose what I would share first.  Since I've got a ton of birthday cards to send, I decided to use the Carousel Birthday stamp set paired with this week's sketch from Mojo Monday.

carouselbirthdaybymelissastout

I stamped the carousel horse in Early Espresso ink onto Very Vanilla card stock, then die cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits and the Big Shot.  These are definitely my favorite dies of the moment!  Another new favorite is the watercolor pencils.  Seriously, you should be adding these to your shopping cart right now!  They are only $16 (whoa!), come in SU colors, and blend beautifully.  I used pencils in Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Calypso Coral, and Bermuda Bay to highlight the horse image.  I lightly used a blender pen to smooth out the colors.

carouselbirthdaycloseup

The patterned papers are from the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Pack.  It features 48 sheets of double-sided designs in a convenient 6" x 6" size perfect for card-making.  There is also a Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishment Kit which is where I got the random sequins.  This kit has a lot of fun embellishments that I can't wait to use, including tassels, ribbons, bows, and gold foil labels.

And the best part of Sale-a-Bration?  You can get it all and get something free!  For every $50 you spend (before shipping and tax), you can select a free item from the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  You'll find the complete supply list with links to purchase below.

Fall is Coming!

scarecrowcloseup

If you are desperately trying to narrow down your wish list from the Holiday catalog, I'm going to strongly suggest you get both Cookie Cutter stamp sets and the coordinating punch.  Between both sets, you've got all the Fall & Holiday occasions covered!  Today, I'm sharing a card that we will be making in my Cookie Cutter class next month.  I'll be sending out sign-up information later this week, so make sure you sign up for my email newsletters if you want to find out more.

FMS Final 251-001

I used this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for the layout.

scarecrowfms251

The Scarecrow image is from the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set and the sentiment is from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set.  I colored the little guy with a blender pen and various ink refills.

cookiecutterscarecrow

I embossed the Very Vanilla card stock layer with the new Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Big Shot.  I think this folder will be a favorite among my stampers!  The background paper is from the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper stack.  Both of these items will be available for purchase on September 1st.

Posting may be a little slower this week, as I'm still trying to catch up after the chaos of last week.  I'll definitely have one more sneak peek at the Cookie Cutter Stamp-a-Stack sometime within the next couple of days.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Assemble 2 White Gift Boxes.  I cut patterned paper into 2-3/4" squares and adhered the paper to all six sides.  Then use the Big Shot and Large Numbers Framelits to cut numbers.  It doesn't really matter which side you put them on, but you do need to put specific numbers on each box.  Use the guide below.

STEP SEVEN:  Decorate the Stand

Cookie Cutter Halloween

cookiecutterhalloweencloseup

Are you starting to get excited about the Holiday catalog? It is absolutely packed with gorgeous new products.  I've had a chance to play around with them and I'll be sharing some sneak peeks with you all month long.  Today's card was created using a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

cookiecutterhalloween1

A few posts back, I shared a card made with the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set.  This card is made with it's "sister" set, Cookie Cutter Halloween.  You'll love that there is a coordinating easy-to-use punch.  No fussy cutting! I simply stamped the characters onto Whisper White and Smoky Slate card stock with Basic Black archival ink, then punched them out.  To add a little depth, I used a blender pen with Smoky Slate and Whisper White ink to lightly highlight the skeleton and mummy.  A little Clear Wink of Stella adds a slight glimmer.

cookiecutterhalloween

I've managed to have some restraint in ordering from this new catalog....only 2 Halloween stamp sets for me (and I love Halloween stuff).  Since there are no sentiments in Cookie Cutter Halloween, I selected the Spooky Fun stamp set to add some spooky accents and greetings to my Halloween cards.  The pumpkins and "happy halloween" are from that set.  It also has a coordinating set of dies that are so fun!

Other items on this card are the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper, Halloween Night Enamel Dots, and Black Metallic Thread.  You'll be able to order all of these items beginning September 1st.

If you earned Bonus Bucks during July, don't forget to redeem them before the end of August.  You can shop anytime in my online store for all of your stamping supplies.

Cookie Cutter Christmas

cookiecutterchristmascloseup

Oh, the cuteness! My goodies from the Holiday catalog have arrived and I had a little time to play around today.  This little gingerbread man from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set is just darling!  I could not wait to ink him up.

Mojo460

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for the layout.

Card Stock Measurements

Crumb Cake:  4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2"

Whisper White:  4" x 5-1/4" and 2" x 3"

Early Espresso:  2-1/4" x 3-1/4"

Candy Cane Lane DSP:  2" x 5-1/4", 1/2" x 3", 3" circle

CookieCutterChristmas

The Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper is so much fun!  There are sprinkles, gingerbread houses, stripes, and lots of candy.  The color combo of Real Red, Crumb Cake, and Early Espresso is one of my favorites for the Holidays.
