Twinkle Trees

twinkletreescloseup

One of my all-time favorite techniques is the Bokeh background. You can click HERE for a tutorial and to see samples of this technique in action.  As much as I love Bokeh, it can also be a bit messy and time-consuming.  So, I was very excited to see a new set in the Holiday catalog called Twinkle Trees.  It is designed with lots of small stamps that you can overlap to create the Bokeh effect.

CTS_185

Today's card layout comes from CAS(E) this sketch.  I think it works perfectly, don't you?

TwinkleTrees

I started by stamping the tree image and sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White card stock.  Next, I added circles of Pink Pirouette, Mint Macaron (stamped off), Pool Party, and So Saffron to create the Bokeh border. The sentiment is from the Tin of Tags stamp set, which I think pairs wonderfully with the Twinkle Trees.

The final touch is a few Fancy Frost Sequins to add some sparkle.

You'll able to purchase all of these Holiday Catalog products beginning September 1st.

Be sure to sign up for email updates to my blog (right column--->).  I'll be sharing more samples made with this stamp set in the next few days!

Cookie Cutter Halloween

cookiecutterhalloweencloseup

Are you starting to get excited about the Holiday catalog? It is absolutely packed with gorgeous new products.  I've had a chance to play around with them and I'll be sharing some sneak peeks with you all month long.  Today's card was created using a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

cookiecutterhalloween1

A few posts back, I shared a card made with the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set.  This card is made with it's "sister" set, Cookie Cutter Halloween.  You'll love that there is a coordinating easy-to-use punch.  No fussy cutting! I simply stamped the characters onto Whisper White and Smoky Slate card stock with Basic Black archival ink, then punched them out.  To add a little depth, I used a blender pen with Smoky Slate and Whisper White ink to lightly highlight the skeleton and mummy.  A little Clear Wink of Stella adds a slight glimmer.

cookiecutterhalloween

I've managed to have some restraint in ordering from this new catalog....only 2 Halloween stamp sets for me (and I love Halloween stuff).  Since there are no sentiments in Cookie Cutter Halloween, I selected the Spooky Fun stamp set to add some spooky accents and greetings to my Halloween cards.  The pumpkins and "happy halloween" are from that set.  It also has a coordinating set of dies that are so fun!

Other items on this card are the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper, Halloween Night Enamel Dots, and Black Metallic Thread.  You'll be able to order all of these items beginning September 1st.

If you earned Bonus Bucks during July, don't forget to redeem them before the end of August.  You can shop anytime in my online store for all of your stamping supplies.

Thoughtful Branches

pinktbcloseup

Today on the Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration blog, we are sharing samples created with the Thoughtful Branches photopolymer bundle.  This is an exclusive stamp set and thinlits that are available this month.  You can view what the designers have made HERE.

Don't you just love the pop of color on this black background? I love the Pink Pirouette flower with the Mint Macaron stem.  The sentiment was heat embossed with Whisper White embossing powder.  I didn't use my embossing buddy, so it's a little messier than I would normally like.  Use your embossing buddy for better results!  ;0)

Oh, the cuteness! My goodies from the Holiday catalog have arrived and I had a little time to play around today.  This little gingerbread man from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set is just darling!  I could not wait to ink him up.

Mojo460

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for the layout.

Card Stock Measurements

Crumb Cake:  4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2"

Whisper White:  4" x 5-1/4" and 2" x 3"

CookieCutterChristmas

The Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper is so much fun!  There are sprinkles, gingerbread houses, stripes, and lots of candy.  The color combo of Real Red, Crumb Cake, and Early Espresso is one of my favorites for the Holidays.

I continue to play with the Thoughtful Branches photopolymer bundle.  Today, I paired it with the Moroccan Designer Series Paper and a cool color combo that I think you'll love.

MoroccanThoughtfulBranches

One of the things I love about our Designer Series Paper is that they give you a ready-made color palette.  I never would have thought to combine Emerald Envy, Dapper Denim, Early Espresso, and Delightful Dijon, but they work beautifully together!

MoroccanThoughtfulbranches2

My favorite die from this bundle has to be the bare branches.  It's perfect for a Fall-themed card and you can always add leaves, apples, and birds if you like.

It's been awhile since I've done any traditional scrapbooking and the photos are beginning to take over my phone.  Bella went back to school last week, so I decided to start with the first day of 4th grade for my first layout.

These cute little banners are die cut with the Fiesta Time Framelits dies.  I added a few gold stars from the Metallic Enamel Shapes to the Very Vanilla banner.

closeup2

The main accent on the page was created with the Thoughtful Branches photopolymer bundle, Number of Years stamp set, and Large Numbers framelits.

closeup3

To create a lacy background panel, I die cut the leaves from the Beautiful Branches Thinlits dies out of 2" x 2" squares of Very Vanilla cardstock and adhered them next to one another like tiles.

Holiday Thoughtful Branches

holidaythoughtfulbranchescloseup

It's been a busy week for the Stout family (more on that later), so I'm a day late with this post.  Yesterday was the day that customers could begin to order the Thoughtful Branches photopolymer stamp set, Beautiful Branches thinlits dies, or save by purchasing both in a bundle!

I've had a lot of fun creating with this stamp set and I know you will, too!  Today's card would be perfect for anyone wanting to get an early start on holiday cards.  I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for the layout.  It works perfectly to showcase the This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper.

ThoughtfulBranchesHoliday

This one of the cards that my guests will be making at the Stamp-a-Stack on Sunday, August 28th, and also in my August workshops.  It's super easy to stamp the trees with 2-step stamping, so this card is perfect for beginners or making in bulk quantities!  To accessorize the card, I used a Gold Metallic Foil Doily and some shiny Gold Metallic Thread.

Since you've read this far, I'm going to share/brag just a bit.  Last weekend, we traveled to Chicago to see my son graduate from bootcamp.  We didn't get to spend a lot of time with him, but it was enough to see this momma through until the next time.  Below is a pic of me with my sailor.

And remember baby Bella?  Well, she is growing up and started 4th grade yesterday! (looks a little like me, doesn't she?) 20160802_113832005_iOS
