What's Your Favorite Accessory?

hydrangeacloseup

The designers at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration are sharing their favorite accessory and a project using that accessory on our blogs today.  You can check out what the other designers selected HERE.

My absolute favorite accessory from the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog is the Enamel Shapes.  You can get these in a metallic assortment, the 2016-2018 In Colors, and in the Brights, Subtles, and Regals color families.  I use them on many of my projects.  They are like the sprinkles on an ice cream sundae.

I used a similar technique on this card as the Apple Tree card that I shared earlier this week.  I started by sponging Pool Party ink onto the Whisper White card stock, using the negative space from the large die as a stencil.  To get a lighter shade of blue, I stamped off the Dapper Denim ink before stamping the flower petals onto the die cut.  The 2016-2018 IN Color Enamel Shapes add just the right pop of color onto the petals.

To step this card up another notch, I tied on some Dapper Denim ribbon and used some Pool Party Designer Series Paper as my card background.  You'll find a complete list of the supplies used at the end of this post.

Remember, the Thoughtful Branches bundle will be available on August 2nd.

Falling for Thoughtful Branches

Thoughtfulbranchesfall

Bella goes back to school next week.  I can hardly believe that her Summer is over!  That can only mean one thing.....Fall is right around the corner.  Sadly, it will be a few more months before the leaves start to turn, but I can still get a head start on my Fall cards with the Thoughtful Branches stamp set.

Mojo458

This Mojo Monday sketch works perfectly with my Fall colors.

FallMojo482

I started by stamping the trio of tree trunks in Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White card stock.  Next, I added a grassy area with Garden Green ink stamped at full-strength, then a second time without re-inking.  I used that same stamping technique for the leaves which are stamped with Crushed Curry, Garden Green, and Cajun Craze ink.

FallThoughtfulBranches

It may be hard to see in the pics, but I embossed one of the layers with the Woodgrain embossing folder and the Big Shot.  The Moroccan Designer Series Paper added just the right amount of color in my additional card layers.  To create the "arrow", I used the Layering Squares Framelits die to create a square frame, then cut it in half diagonally.

It won't be much longer until you can get your hands on this amazing stamp set, Thoughtful Branches.  The ordering period starts August 2nd!  Comment below if you'll be adding it to your collection.

Thoughtful Branches

ThoughtfulBranchescloseup

I am so excited to share a card made with the Thoughtful Branches Photopolymer Bundle.  This is an amazing stamp set and coordinating die that will be offered exclusively beginning August 2nd.  For the card layout, I used a sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.

CTS_182

I predict that this stamp set will be very popular.  At my Christmas in July Open House this past weekend, I had quite a few people ready to add this bundle to their stamp collection.  I'll be sharing more samples with you over the next week, and by next Tuesday, you'll be ready to order one for yourself!

ThoughtfulBranchesAppleTree

I used the negative space created by the largest die to sponge Wild Wasabi ink onto the Whisper White card stock.  Next, I stamped the leaves in Garden Green ink over the sponged area.  Then, I die cut the tree trunk/branches from Early Espresso ink and several apple images that had been stamped in Real Red ink.  A few Brights Enamel Shapes create some smaller "apples" for my tree.

AppleTree

There are lots of great greetings in this stamp set, for both the outside and inside of the card.  I absolutely love the fun, whimsical font, don't you?  I can't wait to show you even more cards that I've created with this bundle.  Be sure to hit the subscribe button in the right column to receive updates by email.

Welcome to the Monday Montage blog hop!  Every other Monday, my friends and I share inspiring projects.  Be sure to visit all the stops....you don't want to miss anything!

We've been busy tearing up the Stout household, transforming my son's old room into a Shabby Chic tween room for my daughter.  We'll be tackling the other bedrooms with new paint and floors soon.  If you've ever lived in a home during a remodel, you'll certainly understand why I've had very little time for stamping.

I really love how her room has turned out.  I may just move myself in there once she leaves home.  LOL!

Anyway, you came here for stamping ideas, not my home decorating.  I haven't stamped anything new for almost 3 weeks, so I'm just going to share 3 quick & easy cards that I created for several new catalog swaps back in May.  All of these cards are great for mass production or make & takes at a workshop.

Christmas in July

simplechristmas2

It's never too early to start thinking about Christmas, right?  The designers at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration have whipped up a few holiday cards to inspire you.  You can check out their creations HERE.

I'll be hosting a Christmas in July open house this weekend in Kokomo, Indiana.  If you are local, be sure to check out the dates and times.  I'll have plenty of retired stamps and accessories, lots of card samples, as well as some Christmas make & takes.  Here is your sneak peek at one of the cards my guests will be creating.

simplechristmas

I always keep my Make & Take projects very simple so that beginners don't get discouraged or disappointed with their cards. This Christmas card fits the bill perfectly and would also be a great card to create in bulk.  I used the This Christmas Designer Series Paper and the Better Together stamp set, so it doesn't require a lot of supplies either.

The layout for this card is from CAS(E) this sketch.

Card Stock Measurements

Very Vanilla: 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2"

Very Vanilla:  4" x 5-1/4"

By varying the patterns of the Designer Series Paper, I was able to create the cards shown above.  If you'd like to get a head start on your Christmas cards, you'll find a complete list of supplies at the end of this post.

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Card Sketch Challenge

sweetcupcakecloseup

We have an awesome card sketch on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog today and we'd love to have you play along with us.  Simply use the sketch below to create a card and upload it to our blog. If you upload to online galleries, please use the hashtag #ssinkcs35 so we can find your creations.

I chose to use the Sweet Cupcake stamp set again today, and I'm using the same color combo as I did in my last post:  Pink Pirouette, Flirty Flamingo, Crumb Cake, and Mint Macaron.  For the patterned paper, I used the Crumb Cake and Flirty Flamingo polka dots from the Neutrals and 2016-2018 IN Color Designer Series Paper Stacks.  These paper stacks are my "go-to" when I can't find a paper in a certain color.  I have all the color families and In Colors for just that reason.

sweetcupcakessinkcs

Aren't the little enamel shapes the cutest thing?  I love that they coordinate with the paper and add such a pop to this project.  It's difficult to see in the pictures, but I used the Clear Wink of Stella on the top of the cupcake.  This brush gives the cupcake a glittery, shimmer effect.  It's so pretty!

Don't forget to check out how the other designers incorporated this month's card sketch HERE.  You've got plenty of time to play along, so get stamping!  You'll find a complete list of supplies for my card at the end of this post.

Welcome to the Monday Montage blog hop!  Every other Monday, my friends and I share inspiring projects.  Be sure to visit all the stops....you don't want to miss anything!

I had been doing such a good job on sending out birthday cards this year, but the last month has really gotten away from me.  It looks like I'll need to whip up some belated birthday cards and the Sweet Cupcake stamp set has come to my rescue.

sweetcupcakeshaker

My first card is a fun shaker made with the Sliding Star Framelits and a few embellishments from the June 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit (washi tape & sequins). I started with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Thick Whisper White card stock and die-cut the Circle Slider mechanism.  When you die-cut the Circle Slider mechanism, you get 3 pieces:  a large open circle, a "ring", and a smaller inside circle.  I placed a 4" x 4" window sheet over the opening of the large circle.  The smaller circle is adhered onto the front of the card with dimensionals.  I created a "tunnel" for the sequins with the foam adhesive strips.  To cover the strips, I added a 3-3/4" x 3-3/4" piece of the gold foil paper from the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper.

sweetcupcakeshakercu

This stamp set requires 3 individual stamps to create the final image.  The stamps are numbered on the sheet included with the stamp set.  For the cupcake bottom, I stamped as follows:  (3) Crumb Cake stamped off, (2) Crumb Cake, and (1) Crumb Cake.  For the top, I stamped (3) Pink Pirouette, (2) Flirty Flamingo stamped off, and (1) Flirty Flamingo stamped off.  The sprinkles are Flirty Flamingo and Mint Macaron.

sweetcupcakeshaker2

I die-cut the "sweet" from the Cupcake Cutout Framelits in Whisper White and Flirty Flamingo card stocks.  Layering the two of them together gives it a drop shadow effect.  The sentiments were stamped in Flirty Flamingo and Mint Macaron inks.  I added a small heart from the IN Color Enamel Shapes to the "happy belated birthday" circle that had been punched with the 1-1/2" circle punch.  You'll find a complete list of supplies at the end of this post.

DID I MENTION HOW MUCH I HATE MISSING SOMEONE'S BIRTHDAY?

It kinda stinks!

poopcloseup

I just couldn't look at the Sweet Cupcake stamp set and not see the fresh, hot, steaming pile of poo.  With a little help from the Jar of Love (flies) and Here for You (sentiment) stamp sets, I was able to make this happen.

stinkypoo

I think this card is fairly self-explanatory, but in case you were wondering.....varying shades of Soft Suede seem to be the most normal & realistic color combination I found.  You're welcome!

Just Beachy

We are featuring Beach-themed cards on the Stampin' Stylin' INKspiration blog today.  Be sure to check out what our designers have created for you HERE.

justbeachycrab

The Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper provides the perfect backdrop for my not-so-crabby Crab from the You're Sublime stamp set.  I pieced him together with Real Red, Whisper White, and Basic Gray card stocks.  To make the red even darker, I used a Real Red marker over the card stock to give it more depth.

My favorite parts of this card are the Swirly Bird beach ball and the Labeler Alphabet sentiment.  I love that you can create any greeting that you want with this new alphabet set.  I'm sure that I'll be using it a lot!
