Last Chance to Sale-a-Brate!
March 30, 2016
Our theme today at Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration is banners. I decided to create a card featuring a mini banner accent to officially welcome Spring.
I started by stamping a Whisper White card base with my favorite splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge and Old Olive ink. Next, I adhered a strip of White Corrugated Paper and a strip of Basic Black patterned paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack.
I used the banner punch to punch out 6 banners from the Pretty Petals DSP. Next, I poked holes in the upper corners with a paper-piercing tool, then thread Basic Black Baker's twine through the holes to created the banner. Each piece was secured to the card with a Stampin' Dimensional. The letters are from one of the Project Life by Stampin' UP kits (not sure which one).
The final touches are the butterfly with the Old Olive candy dot and the Calypso Coral "happy" die cut made with the Hello You thinlits.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll have the supply list for this card up a little later.
Welcome to the Monday Montage blog hop! Every other Monday, my friends and I share inspiring projects. Be sure to visit all 10 stops.....you don't want to miss anything!
Yesterday was my birthday. Woo! Hoo!
It was a great day filled with family, friends, stamping, and lots of fabulous food. One of the best parts of the day was receiving a mailbox full of hand-stamped birthday cards. It's easy to forget how much a stamped card can brighten someone's day and I was reminded how important it is to send those cards!
So, today I am sharing a simple birthday card that I submitted for a recent Flat & Fabulous swap. The purpose of this swap was to create cards that were amazing, but flat enough to be sent through the mail. I'll be sharing all of my swap cards this week on my Facebook and Instagram accounts. Be sure to follow me on one or both (links in the right column) so that you'll be able to see all the amazing card ideas.
I think I've decided that Sprinkles of Life is my favorite stamp set from the annual catalog. It is so versatile, has a matching punch, and well....cupcakes! You just can't go wrong with a good cupcake.
The "sprinkles" patterned paper is from the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper. It paired perfectly with the stamp set to create a very clean, simple, and somewhat flat card.
If you look closely, you'll spot a few white circle accents. These are called White Perfect Accents and they certainly live up to their name! If you love mainly white and clean card designs, the White Perfect Accents are just the thing to add a little WOW factor to your cards. And, you get a ton of them for just $5 so make sure you add them to your next order.
You'll find a list of supplies at the end of this post. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Welcome to the Control Freaks monthly blog tour! I am so excited to be joining these ladies again this month. Our theme this month is Spring and Easter. If you started at the beginning of the tour, you just visited the very talented, Cindy Elam.
To create this egg-shaped card, I cut several layers of Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper and layered them on an oval-shaped card base. The greeting is perfect and is from the Suite Sayings stamp set. The little flowers were punched with the flower from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack. I added several layers of Designer Series Paper that I had cut with fringed scissors to the bottom of the card to resemble grass.
But this card also has a little surprise inside.....
I really can't pass up any opportunity to use the little chick image from the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set. Once open, this double-easel card stands on its own and becomes a ca--ute decor piece.
In case you are wondering, this type of card is not difficult to make. I slightly modified my double-easel heart tutorial which you should be able to find easily on my YouTube channel.
Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the web! Don't forget to visit Mary Brown to continue on the blog tour.
To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, the designers at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration were challenged to create a card using 3 shades of green. Just so you know, that's not as easy as it sounds. It's not easy being green!
I chose 3 In Colors for my shades of green: Mint Macaron, Cucumber Crush, and Mossy Meadow. The little frog image is from the You're Sublime stamp set and my perfect sentiment is from the Greatest Greetings stamp set.
I created a small watercolor background using an Aqua Painter and Mint Macaron ink. Next, I stamped the frog image onto the Cucumber Crush patterned paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper stack, and a second time onto Whisper White card stock. I cut the green image out, and the eyes/spots from the Whisper White to create the full frog. The eyes were popped up with dimensionals.
The sentiment was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink to round out my 3rd shade of green. I added a few of the It's My Party enamel dots and a strip of the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper to complete the card.
I hope you have an enjoyable and lucky St. Patrick's Day.

We are featuring Wedding cards today on Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration. I decided to use the Love Story Project Life card kit and accessories to whip up 3 quick & easy cards that would be perfect for engagement parties, bridal showers, and weddings.
On the first 2 cards, I added strips of the Silver Glitter Metallics tape that is only available during Sale-a-Bration. You can get it FREE with any $50 purchase through March 31st.
On the last 2 cards, I used some die-cuts from the coordinating Love Story Accessory pack to add depth and dimension to the cards.
For each card, I used a base of thick Whisper White card stock cut to 4-1/4" x 11", then scored at 5-1/2". I then cut one of the larger Project Life cards to 4" x 5-1/4" to create the background. And finally, I used some of the smaller Project Life cards as the focal point.

Happiness is a fluffy chick. And ice cream. And balloons! The Honeycomb Happiness set has all three, plus you can get it FREE during Sale-a-Bration with a $50 purchase through March 31st. Today, I've designed 3 very simple cards using all the images in this stamp set.
For the card base and the top layer (4" x 5-1/4"), I used the Whisper White thick card stock. The next step was to create a watercolor wash background with an Aqua Painter and Pool Party re-inker.
After the background had dried completely, I stamped the images and greetings directly onto the card stock. I stamped additional images onto scraps of designer series paper, then cut them out and added them to the card with dimensionals.
You'll find the blog line-up and a complete list of supplies at the end of this post.

We are featuring BABY cards on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration blog today. You can get your baby fix HERE.
I chose to use this week's Mojo Monday sketch for the layout of my card.
Seriously, how cute is that little baby in the pea pod? This image is from the Friends & Flowers stamp set in the Occasions catalog. The stamp set coordinates with the Festive Flower Builder punch which you may already have....it was in the Holiday catalog and was used to make gorgeous poinsettias.
To create the multi-colored image, I stamped the image with Basic Black ink onto Whisper White, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, and Pink Pirouette card stock. I used the Whisper White image as the base, then layered pieces from the other colors that I had cut out, onto the White layer.
I want to point out 2 very versatile products that I also used on this card: the Suite Sayings stamp set and the Soft Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack. The stamp set features 10 different greetings for all occasions. It is definitely a keeper! And I just love the Designer Series Paper stacks that are available in each of our color families. It's nice to always have the right color of patterned paper at your fingertips.

Happy Monday! We have a new color challenge for you over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration and we'd love to have you join us. Create a card using the colors featured below, then add it to our blog. We'll announce a challenge winner next week and it could be you! To inspire you, check out what the other designers have created HERE.
I can't believe how fast this Sale-a-Bration has flown by! And I really hoped you've earned lots of FREE products, including 2 products that I'm featuring today~Flowering Fields stamp set and Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper.
I used a piece of the Designer Series Paper as the background. It reminds me of raindrops, so even though it's not April, I thought of April showers. The natural choice was to use the Flowering Fields stamp set as the focal point.
I stamped the flowers in Basic Black Archival Ink, then colored them using a blender pen and the ink from Pink Pirouette, Rich Razzleberry, and Lost Lagoon stamp pads.
To complete the card, I accessorized with a paper doily, a wood veneer "Thanks", and linen thread. You'll find a complete list of supplies at the end of this post.

Welcome to the Monday Montage blog hop! Every other Monday, my friends and I share inspiring projects. Be sure to visit all 10 stops.....you don't want to miss anything!
I absolutely love the new Metallics Glitter Tape! Have you tried this stuff yet? It comes in 3 colors: gold, silver, and white. The tape is super sparkly and tears/adheres just like washi tape. Finally, glitter without the mess! And even better.....you can get it FREE with any $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration.
I've created 3 simple cards to inspire you. I paired the tape with the Big Shot and Hello You thinlits dies. If you don't have a Big Shot yet, Sale-a-Bration is the perfect time to add it to your arsenal. You'll even get 2 free sale-a-bration products with your purchase!
Gold Glitter stripes coupled with a black and white color combo creates an elegant, yet fun card.
My daughter is a big Monster High fan, so one of her favorite color combinations is black and bright pink. I think it looks amazing with diagonal silver stripes, don't you?
How fun is this? You can add color to the white tape with a sponge dauber and an ink pad. Be sure to dab and not rub. The surface of the tape is rough and will tear up your dauber if you aren't careful.
You'll find a list of supplies at the end of this post. Thanks so much for stopping by!
