Monday Montage 62

Sale-a-Bration 2016 just keeps getting better.  On February 15th, there will be 3 new and exclusive Sale-a-Bration products available.  Today, I'm featuring one of the stamp sets:  Pedal Pusher.  It is a set of 11 stamps including a tandem bike, a basket, and lots of accessories and sentiments to personalize the bike.

 

I decided to rotate this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and to pair the stamp set with the Love Blossoms suite to create my card.

 

 

I began by stamping the bike in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a 2-1/4" x 3" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I added the basket stamped in Wild Wasabi ink and the hearts stamped in Blushing Bride ink.  It was so easy to line these up perfectly because this is a photopolymer stamp set.  The bike was colored with a Pool Party marker.  I added a light shadow below the bike with an Aqua Painter and Crumb Cake ink.

 

 

I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black Archival ink onto a 1/2" strip of the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper, then added a glitter enamel dot from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit.

A Week's Worth of Love

Love Is In The Air

And here is the final watercolor Valentine card!  I created a wash of Bermuda Bay ink on the Whisper White card base with an Aqua Painter.  Then I die-cut the piece of Real Red watercolored paper with the Sunburst die.  I punched a couple of clouds from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper with the Tree Builder Punch.  The sentiment is from the Balloon Builders stamp set.

Another Watercolor Valentine

Here is proof that I was able to turn my "crime scene" into a cute card.  Be sure to check out yesterday's post if you missed it!

 

 

I started by creating a wash of Real Red ink onto Shimmery White card stock with an Aqua Painter.  Once it was dry, I splattered it with Whisper White ink by flicking (?) the Aqua Painter over the card stock.

 

The focal point is made up of some die-cuts from the Circle Card thinlits die, a punched heart, and a 1/8" strip of Crumb Cake card stock.  So easy!

Watercolor Love You

Today on Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, we are featuring cards for Valentine's Day.  Be sure to check out what the designers have created for you.

Now, for a little PSA.......if you are going to watercolor with Real Red ink, be aware that it may end up looking like a crime scene.   I think I'll call this card my Dexter card.  LOL

 

 

I like to create several pieces of watercolored paper at one time so that I have a variety to choose from.  I have found that the Shimmery White card stock is excellent for creating different effects.  I heavily spritz my card stock with water, then use the Aqua Painter to add drops of Real Red ink refill.

 

To create the vein-y areas, I used a straw to blow the ink over the card stock.  Once the red ink had dried, I splattered a little Whisper White ink over it.  The sentiment was die-cut with the Big Shot and the Little Letters plus Hello You thinlits dies.

I've got 2 more watercolored Valentines that I'll be sharing in the next week. They turned out less "bloody" and more whimsical, so you'll definitely want to check back in with me.

Love Blossoms Mojo Monday 433

With less than 2 weeks until Valentine's Day, it's time to start using the Love Blossoms suite of products a little more.  The layout for today's card comes from this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

 

 

I'm making a real effort this year to not hoard all the pretty things ~ designer series paper, embellishments, ribbon, etc.  I have been very guilty of not using something because it was too pretty and apparently I was saving it for something special.  Cut that paper up?  No way!  It's too pretty! 

So why did I buy it in the first place?

 

So today I stepped way out of my comfort zone and cut up lots of the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper and used a bunch of goodies from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit.  I can't get over how well everything coordinates!

 

The focal point stamping was super easy ~ the heart was stamped in Blush Blossom ink and the banner was stamped with Rose Red and Basic Black ink, then cut by hand.  Don't you just adore the Blushing Bride satin ribbon, strand of pearls, and enamel dots?  These are exclusive to the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit, so you'll definitely want to add them to any order that includes the Designer Series Paper.
