Birthday Bash Class

Last Sunday, I held a Birthday Bash class.  My customers made 8 cards using products from the It's My Party suite.  I promised to share the cards we made with my long-distance customers.  I've already shared most of these in previous blog posts, and the new ones are pretty self-explanatory.  Here they are, all in one place.

I'm already preparing for our next birthday class in March which will feature the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper.  Are you wondering what I'm going to be doing with all these birthday cards?  Well.....

Ibbb

I'm joining some of my fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators to help keep "snail mail" alive in a movement called ‪#‎imbringingbirthdaysback‬. A huge part of the reason I love making cards is being able to send them in the mail to help brighten someone's day...but sadly even I have slacked in doing this. So help me bring birthdays back! If you would like to receive a hand stamped card in the mail for your birthday, fill out this form (US only):  http://goo.gl/forms/bPgXp1mwx7

You'll be added to my birthday list to receive a handmade card this year.  Cool, huh?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Monday Montage 63

Mondaymontage6

Welcome to the Monday Montage blog hop!  Every other Monday, my friends and I share inspiring projects.  Be sure to visit all 10 stops.....you don't want to miss anything!

On Sunday, I held my Birthday Bash card class for my local customers.  We made 8 cards, but I think the one below was the fan favorite.  Everyone just loved the little chick!

20160221_235127000_iOS

I paired the little chick from the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set with the Perfect Pairings stamp set and many products from the It's My Party suite (Designer Series Paper, Enamel Dots, Bakers Twine).

20160221_235153000_iOS

I wanted to show my customers a little versatility with the chick stamp, so I created an alternate Easter card using the same layout....just flipped on its side.  The greeting is from the Greatest Greetings stamp set and the bunny ears are from Friends & Flowers stamp set.

20160221_235221000_iOS

On both cards, I stamped the chick image onto the Whisper White card stock first, then stamped a second time onto the Crushed Curry patterned paper.  I cut out the body portion of the Crushed Curry image and popped it up with dimensionals.  The beak and legs were colored in with a Pumpkin Pie marker.

It's hard to believe, but both cards feature the same measurements and (mostly) the same supplies.  You can get a complete list of supplies at the end of this post.

Control Freaks February Blog Hop

Freakwelcome2013

It's official:  I'm a FREAK!

After years of cyber-stalking the Control Freaks, they asked me to join them. I'm so very excited and this is my first official Tour de Freaks!  Our theme this month is Sale-a-Bration.  If you started at the beginning of the tour, you just visited the very talented, Heidi Baks.  I'm always so inspired by her!

This weekend, I'll be hosting a Birthday Bash class with my local customers.  I've created some treats for them with the Party Pants stamp set and the It's My Birthday Designer Series Paper.  Party Pants is probably my favorite Sale-a-Bration product, if for no other reason than I love the saying "put your party pants on".  Hilarious!

20160218_002921000_iOS

In the class, my customers will be creating 8 cards.  I decided to package up the Whisper White envelopes and It's My Party Enamel Dots inside the Sketched Dots Tag a Bag Gift Bags.  I added a few strips of It's My Party Designer Series Paper that had been punched with the Triple Banner punch, along with a clothspin, doily, sequins, and baker's twine to dress it all up nicely.

20160218_003239000_iOS

The balloon was stamped in Melon Mambo ink onto Whisper White card stock, then punched out with the Balloon Bouquet punch. Don't you just love how these Sale-a-Bration products coordinate with items from the Occasions catalog?

20160218_002852000_iOS

I'm sure my customers will work up quite a thirst and appetite during class, so I'm providing them with a little caffeine boost and chocolate.  I used the Pyramid Pals thinlits die for the chocolate box.  This set of dies even has a die to create that cute fringe border!  The bottle tag is so quick & easy to make.  I'll be posting a tutorial on how to make it soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the web!  Don't forget to visit Dawn Olchefske to continue on the blog tour.  She's always got some great ideas!

Last Day for These Sale-a-Bration Products

Sadly, today is your last chance to get these limited-time products with a $50 purchase.  To tempt you one last time, I've got one final card idea using 2 of these items.

20160127_015528000_iOS

The background paper is from the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper.  One side is more marbled than the other.  The "clouds" are punched from the same paper with the Tree Builder punch.

20160127_015703000_iOS

And I'm really going to miss this vintage airplane!  I stamped it in Basic Black archival ink onto Whisper White card stock then cut it out with my Paper Snips.  I also added a few candy dots as accents.

As always, you'll find a complete list of supplies at the end of this post.

My Craft Space

20160213_213233000_iOS

For those that missed the Periscope tour last week, I'm sharing some of the pictures of my craft room.  Actually, I would call it more of a craft corner.  The space that I am using is about 7 ft by 8 ft.  I also have a craft desk and a closet, but I'm looking to sell the desk and reclaim the closet for non-stamping stuff.  The shelves and desk shown in the picture above are from Ikea.

20160213_213300000_iOS

On the top of one of the shelving units, I like to display some projects and photos that make me smile.  I've got a piece of my daughter's artwork, a couple of Stampin' Up! project kits, photos of friends and family, gifts and cards.  The creativity sign was made with vinyl and My Digital Studio, back in the day.  I keep it because it helps to explain when my area is a mess.  LOL

20160213_213321000_iOS

On the shelves, I organize my stamp sets alphabetically.  I only keep current stamps on the shelves, and remove them immediately once they retire.  You can also see some of my Project Life by Stampin' UP! kits, Paper Pumpkin Kits, and a few completed scrapbooks.

20160213_213347000_iOS

There is a lot going on in this picture, but this is where the magic happens.  On the top shelf, I have my sewing machine, Silhouette Cameo, Color Caddy filled with ink pads and refills, a ribbon holder, and the Stack & Store caddy for my embellishments.  The dress form was temporarily relocated here, so I'm not sure that she'll be staying.  The shelves are filled with card stock and punches.

20160213_213412000_iOS

Here is a close-up of the inserts that I purchased from Stamp-N-Storage.  There are 12 slots on the paper holders.  I place the individual 8-1/2" x 11" colors on each shelf, organized by color family.  Any 12" x 12" cardstock from that color family goes in the 11th slot, and the 12th slot is filled with that color family's Designer Series Paper Stack.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my punch holders!  It is so nice to have them at my finger tips.  I was concerned that the smaller punches would slide too far back and be difficult to reach, but they've got a neat little trick for that.  When you order the punch holder, you receive spacers that will push your small and medium stamps forward.  Genius!

One more thing.....these units come fully assembled and fit perfectly into the Kallax shelves from IKEA. If you don't have this type of shelving, be sure to check out Stamp-N-Storage anyway.  They've got many other storage solutions available.

20160213_213516000_iOS

Tucked away in the corner is an IKEA Raskog cart that I use for my Big Shot.  I assembled the cart with the top basket upside down.  My big shot fits perfectly on top.  The lower baskets are filled with dies, cutting plates, embossing folders, etc.  Because it is on wheels, I can easily bring it out when I need it and roll it away when not in use.

20160213_213436000_iOS

Under my desk, I have a set of IKEA Alex drawers.  This is filled with Silhouette cutting mats and supplies, vinyl, and miscellaneous contraband (non-Stampin' Up! stuff).  When I am working with my Silhouette, I will wheel this out and place my Cameo on top for cutting projects.

20160213_213540000_iOS

This little cart isn't shown in any of my photos.  I purchased it years ago from a craft store and I know I've seen them recently online and in stores.  It's just a simple rolling cart with 8 drawers that will hold 8-1/2" x 11" paper.  I've labeled each drawer with a color family name (or white & vanilla), and this is where I keep all of my scrap paper.  It's nice to have it organized this way because I conserve a lot of full sheets of paper by checking my scrap drawers first.

20160213_213211000_iOS

The biggest benefit to having an organized space is that I can be a lot more creative without the chaos.  I know where to find everything and it's relaxing to sit at my desk to create now.

I'm not finished, though. I've still got room for improvement and will be adding a few more things in the next couple of months.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Last-Minute Valentine's Day Treats

A few years ago, we started the tradition of handing out treats on Valentine's Day to our patients in my chiropractic office.  We had no idea that this small gesture would touch some people so deeply.  One of my 80+ year-old patients still remarks on how much she appreciated her Valentine from several years ago.

20160211_030413000_iOS

So, last night I took a little time to whip up some matchbook treat holders with the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper and Embellishment Kit.  I've featured these on my blog before and you can get the complete directions HERE.

20160211_030344000_iOS

Here is a close-up of 2 of my favorites.  I used the Bloomin' Love stamp set to create the heart and greeting.  I added some Gold Wink of Stella to the wooden hearts from the Embellishment Kit.   The ribbon is also exclusive to the kit and it is absolutely to die for!  Gorgeous!

20160211_030436000_iOS

And since we'll be busy in the office this week, I'm also taking the treats from the January Paper Pumpkin kit.  I can't believe how cute these are!  I'll definitely be using the stamps again.

Just One More Pedal Pusher

20160207_233447000_iOSHow can you not fall in love with the new Pedal Pusher stamp set?  I'm giving you one more idea today, then it's time for my party pants to come out (hint-hint).

CTS_158

The layout for today's card comes from CAS(E) this sketch.  I paired the Pedal Pusher stamp set with the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper to create a soft, subtle Thinking of You card.

20160206_204824000_iOS

I layered a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of the striped Designer Series Paper onto the Whisper White card base.  I placed a paper doily in the center of the card to give it a bit of a feminine flair.  Next, I cut 1/2" strips of various patterns of the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and trimmed the ends with the Banner Triple punch before adhering to the card front.

20160207_233814000_iOS

The bike image was stamped onto Whisper White card stock with Basic Black Archival ink, then watercolored with an Aqua Painter and several ink refills.  I cut the image out with the Ovals Die and Big Shot, then layered it onto a larger die-cut oval.  The greeting was stamped on Basic Black card stock with White Staz-ON ink.

You'll find a complete list of supplies at the end of this post.
