Mystery Supply Challenge

 

 The designers at Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration participated in a fun Mystery Supply Challenge this month.  We had to send 3 items to another designer, and then had to create a project with the 3 items that we received.  You can see the 3 items that Pam sent me above.  And here is what I created.....

 

I don't own the Striped Scallop Thinlits die, but I may need to add it to my next order.  I love the detail it adds to this card!

 

 

I used the Gold Sequin Trim to accent some of the scallops and as a divider between the top and bottom of the card.  The "hello" is from the Greetings Thinlits dies.   I think it is a nice pop of color next to the flower that Pam sent to me.

There are few things better in the stamping world than a photopolymer stamp set with a coordinating punch.  I squealed when I saw the new Flurry of Wishes stamp set and Snow Flurry punch....they are pure perfection!

The top of the card is the snowflake design from the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum layered over Pool Party card stock.  The designer vellum is easy to miss in the Holiday catalog, so be sure to put it on your wish list.

 

For the center of the card, I layered a wooden Snowflake Element, several stamped and punched snowflakes, a strip of Silver Glimmer paper, a strip of Glassine paper, and silver metallic thread.

Fancy Folds

Today on Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration, we are featuring cards with Fancy Folds.  Click HERE to see what the other designers have created.

 

 

This fancy fold is called a TWISTED card.  It creates a "pocket" on the front and inside the card.  I think it's perfect for including a gift card, don't you?

 

 

To create this fold:

Step One:  Cut card stock to 4-1/4"x11"
Step Two:  Score CORNER TO CORNER at an angle
Step Three:  Fold on score and LEAVE FOLDED
Step Four:  Score SYMMETRICALLY (right down the center)
Step Five:  Fold closed
Step Six:  Decorate and embellish

There are a few new products from the Holiday catalog featured on today's card including the Cozy Christmas stamp set and Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper.  You'll be able to order these items on September 1st so be sure to add them to your wish list.

 You may feel like a mosquito in a nudist colony when you look through the new Holiday catalog......you know what you want to do, you just don't know where to start!

I exercised as much restraint as I possibly could, and bought just a few new stamp sets.  One of my favorites is called Howl-O-Ween Treats.

The images in the stamp set coordinate with the Boo To You Framelits making it easy to cut out this adorable owl image.  The "Boo" is also from the framelits.

I paired the stamp set with the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper and some Silver Glimmer paper to create a fun & colorful card.

Pocket Letter Frenzy

Well, I went a bit overboard with my Pocket Letter Obsession. I joined an online group and signed up for a bunch of swaps.  I'm going to share a few of them with you today.

You'll notice that I use a wide variety of products in my Pocket Letters, not just Stampin' UP!  I've found this is a great way to share my craft stash with other people. You can learn more about Pocket Letters in this post.
