Monday Montage 46

Mondaymontage6

Welcome to the Monday Montage blog hop!  Every other Monday, my friends and I share inspiring projects.  Be sure to visit all 8 stops.....you don't want to miss anything!

GoWildDSPcards

Get ready to take a walk on the Wild side....I'm featuring quick & easy cards made with the new Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack.

WildZooBabies

For this first card, I added a small strip of Designer Series Paper to the edge of a Whisper White note card.  The stamps are from the Zoo Babies stamp set and I added a few pops of color in Melon Mambo.

NoBonesAboutIt

For this card, I used the layout from this week's Freshly Made Sketch.  The stamps are from the No Bones About It stamp set.  I think this would be a fun card for a child's birthday, don't you?

Animalprint

This card is probably my favorite because it is so simple!  I used the Triple Banner punch to create the 3 banners, tied on some ribbon, and stamped a sentiment from the Fabulous Four stamp set.  We made this card last week at one of my classes.  Imagine my surprise, when 2 of my guests showed up in outfits to coordinate with my card!

Quick & Easy Masculine Card

It's Masculine Monday at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration. I decided to participate at the last minute so I needed a quick & easy card. I used this week's CAS(E) this Sketch for the layout.

CTS_128

This card seriously took me about 5 minutes to create and most of that time was spent cutting the paper. The Tangerine Tango patterned paper is from the Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper pack. I cut the patterned paper to 3-3/4" x 5-1/4", then into 1-1/4" strips.  By doing it this way, I was able to keep the pattern continuous across the card.

Masculinebdayfront

I stamped the "Happy Birthday" from the Happy Birthday, Everyone stamp set in Jet Black Stazon Ink onto a 2" x 4-1/4" piece of Vellum cardstock.  To attach the greeting to the front of the card, I used the handheld stapler.

Summer Fun

Letsgetawaycu

Summer is in full swing.  I'm not much of an outdoorsy person, so camping isn't really my thing.  However, my kids will be leaving next month for a week-long extended family camping trip.  I'm starting to make a few cards to pack in their bags so they don't forget me.

FMS Final 191-001

I decided to use this week's Freshly Made Sketch for the layout of this Clean & Simple card.  I started with a Whisper White notecard, then applied Everyday Chic Designer Washi Tape to the top and bottom.

  Letsgetaway

Next, I stamped 2 of the trees from Lovely as a Tree.  Seriously....I've had this stamp set FOREVER!!!  I sponged some grass, clouds, and a small sun.  The greeting, car, and camper are from the Project Life Let's Get Away Stamp Set.  The car and camper are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

SSINKLS22: Layout Sketch

Sketchcu

My daughter had her yearly dance recital this past Friday.  After the show, she wanted to take pictures with a couple of her friends.  I've got quite a few pics for a Project Life layout, but I also wanted to create a traditional layout with this month's Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration sketch.

10848007_865451423485805_7686016839806409345_n

I started by stamping the Watercolor Wash background stamp across the page in the following colors:  Rose Red, Perfect Plum, Island Indigo, and Garden Green.

Next, I cut a 2" x 12" strip of Gold Fancy Foil Vellum Paper.  I used the File Tabs Edgelits and the Big Shot to cut the tab at the top of the paper.  The vellum was attached by stitching (with a sewing machine!) it to the background paper.

The ampersand was cut from Gold Foil Paper with my Silhoutte Cameo.

The banners are also from the Gold Fancy Foil Vellum Paper.  I cut it into 1" strips before punching with the New Banner Triple punch.

Ssinksketch

And finally, I added a few elements from the Moments Like This Project Life Accessory Pack....the letters for the names, the striped file tab layer, and the scallop below the photo.

I'll be adding the Project Life layout to the blog later this week, so stay tuned.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Welcome to the Monday Montage blog hop!  Every other Monday, my friends and I share inspiring projects.  Be sure to visit all 10 stops.....you don't want to miss anything!

I am a huge fan of kits, so I was very excited to see the NEW Tin of Cards.  This kit contains supplies to make 16 all-occasions cards plus a tin with dividers to keep all your cards organized.  I decided to embellish my tin a little bit....

Tinofcards1

I started by spraying my tin with Glitter Blast.  It only took 2 coats to create a beautiful, shimmery surface.

Tinwglitterblast

The flowers were made with the NEW Cotton Paper and the Floral Frames Collection Framelits/Big Shot.  The Layered Letters Alphabet was perfect for crating the label.  I used the rectangle stamp to recreate the Mint Macaron stripes from the tin.

For my local customers, I will be offering the Tin of Cards class on Sunday, June 28th at 2pm.  Full details are available HERE.

TINOFCARDSCOLLAGE
And if you aren't local, I've included a complete list of supplies at the end of this post.  You can gather some friends and create this project during a fun girls night out.

Gonefishing

Even though it's more than a week away, I have started working frantically on cards for Father's Day.  This is definitely one of my favorites.  I created the card with Stampin' Up! cardstock, my Silhouette Cameo, and a Fishing Vest download from Snapdragon Snippets.  I really like their downloads because they provide such great instructions on their website.

Gonefishingwithenvelope

I decided to do faux stitching on the vest and found that the Project Life journaling pens were perfect for the job.  Most of the edges of the vest and pockets were sponged with Soft Suede ink to make them stand out.

Do you hoard scraps of paper?  Me, too!

Those scraps come in very handy in a project like this one.

This is a screenshot of the Silhouette Designer Edition software.  You can see that I have grouped the individual elements from the card in different areas on the mat.  With the grid lines on, I can tell exactly where to place my paper scraps.

This is a picture of my Cameo preparing to cut the multiple small pieces from the card.  I'm able to use up a lot of scraps this way and minimize my cutting time.

The colors used on this card are:  Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Mossy Meadow, Real Red, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Lost Lagoon, Night of Navy, and Whisper White.

Stamp Set Focus: Sprinkles of Life

I can confidently say that Sprinkles of Life is my favorite stamp set from the new catalog.  At Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, the designers have created a stunning collection of cards using this stamp set.  Click HERE to see them all.

Sprinkles

I chose to create a very simple card with the "sprinkles" from this stamp set.  I stamped them randomly in multiple colors:  Watermelon, Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Pool Party, Crushed Curry, and Bermuda Bay.

Sprinklescase

For the greeting, I stamped in Versamark ink then embossed with the Heat Tool and White Embossing Powder.  I cut the words apart to create the focal point.

The layout for this card comes from CAS(E) this sketch.

Mermaid Birthday Party Ideas

Last Summer, my daughter attended an art camp at a local art gallery.  She loved it so much that she wanted to have her birthday party there with all of her friends.  During the party, each of her guests would get to paint a canvas.  Miss Bella has always been fascinated with mermaids, so it was easy to decide on a mermaid theme.

BellasbirthdaypartycollageI may be a crafty mom, but I'm also a very busy mom.  The great thing about this party is that all I had to do was provide the treats....everything else was included.  As Bella and I were browsing the Silhouette store for cupcake toppers, she found an invitation that she absolutely loved.  I only had to make 8 invitations and they turned out so very cute.

Mermaidinvite

I cut all the pieces from Stampin' UP! cardstock and Designer Series Paper with my Silhouette Cameo.  The main colors are Pool Party, Sahara Sand, and Melon Mambo.  We hand-delivered these invitations.  I'm sure it would have cost quite a bit to mail them.

Bellainviteopen

Here is a peek at the inside of the invitation.  I printed the details on Whisper White cardstock, then used my Big Shot and Oval thinlits to cut them out.

  Bellainvitecu

My favorite part of the invitation was the pop-up mermaid.  The seaweed and bubbles added a great 3-dimensional element.  The bubbles were cut from Glimmer paper, then colored with various shades of ink refills and an aquapainter.

  Mermaidcupcakes
Bella and I made gluten-free cupcakes for the party.  She picked out blue sugar crystals and white "pearls" to decorate the icing.  For the toppers, I print and cut 2 images ~ one of which was mirror-image.  I adhered them back to back with a toothpick in between and stuck them in the center of the cupcakes.

Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration Card Sketch 22: Best Thoughts

Bestthoughtscu

Today on Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, we have an amazing card sketch.  You can see what the other designers have created HERE and we'd love to have you play along!

SSINK June 2015 Card Sketch-001

I chose the Best Thoughts Hostess stamp set as my focal point.  The flower was stamped in StazOn ink, then colored with markers.  I started with Wisteria Wonder around the outer edges, then added in some Pool Party and Soft Sky.  To blend the colors, I used an aquapainter to soften the hard lines.

Bestthoughts2

I used a white gel pen to add a few highlights to the petals once the blending had dried.  The card base is one of the new In-Colors:  Mint Macaron.  It coordinates so nicely with the Wisteria Wonder and shades of blue.

The only way to "purchase" this stamp set is to host a workshop.  Contact me if you'd like more information.

Mojo Monday 400!

Julee Tilman is celebrating a HUGE milestone at Mojo Monday this week.  I absolutely love her weekly sketches and I hope that she continues for at least another 400 sketches.  This week's sketch is a repeat of the first sketch she ever posted.

Mojo400Sketch

Julee is also conducting a designer search (insert squeal here).  Now I would say that I'd give my left arm to be a designer, but then it would be a lot harder to stamp.  So, I'll just stick with this....

MM400DesignerBadge

I'm fairly certain that a tornado hit my stamp room over the weekend. To create this card, I pulled together a few things that were already on my desk.  You can probably see some elements of this card in previous posts.

Mojo1

I'm really loving the bold pop of color against the black & white stripes.  This is a new In Color called Watermelon Wonder.  The tiny flower was created by punching approximately 8 flowers from the new Cotton Paper and fastening them together with a mini brad.

Mojoside

The striped paper is available in the Neutrals Designer Series Paper stack.  I consider this paper a MUST-HAVE from the new catalog!

The greeting is from a new stamp set called Friendly Wishes.  I used Whisper White craft ink and White Embossing Powder to create a chalk-board style look..

Other details:  the corners have been rounded for visual interest.  I added just a few of the clear Itty Bitty Accents to draw your eyes to the striped background.

You'll find a complete list of all of the supplies at the end of this post.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

(Wish me luck)
