I've had so much fun creating with the Friendly Wishes stamp set and the Cotton Paper Assortment.  The stamp set really lends itself to the chalkboard look and the cotton paper makes the prettiest flowers.

Card sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Alwayshereforyou

The flowers were created by cutting 8 layers of cotton paper with the smallest die from the Floral Frames Collection Framelits.  I had originally envisioned this card having a large flower in the center and 2 smaller ones on the side.  The next size up in the framelits created a flower that was overwhelming for the size of the card, so I decided to decorate a tiny treat box.

Floral Wings Single Layer Cards

Today on Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration, the designers are featuring single layer cards.  This is one of my favorites because it can be a bit of a challenge to create an eye-catching design with stamps-only.  To make these cards even quicker, I used the pre-cut note cards from Stampin' UP!

Floralwings1
Night of Navy, Watermelon Wonder, and Cucumber Crush

Floral Wings is a new photopolymer stamp set from the upcoming catalog.  It is Hostess stamp set and is available for $10 with a qualifying workshop order.  For those of you that loved the Wondrous Wreath stamp set in the Holiday catalog, I'd like to introduce you to its alter ego.  Like Wondrous Wreath, Floral Wings requires 3 stamps to complete the image.

Floralwings2
Early Espresso, Watermelon Wonder, and Cucumber Crush

Stamping Tip:  To make the flowers and leaves stand out more on the Crumb Cake card stock, I stamped first with Whisper White craft ink.  Allow it to dry completely, then stamp the color on top.  This will give it a dimensional look.

Layered Letters Alphabet CTS #124

I'm always up for a challenge.  However, when I saw this week's CAS(E) this sketch, I was a bit stumped on what to do with it.

CTS_124

Then I remember that I purchased the Layered Letters Alphabet during the demonstrator pre-order for the upcoming catalog.  I hate to admit it, but I often buy alphabet stamps and do nothing with them.....ever.  I think this one will be different, though.

Ctshi
Smoky Slate, Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, and Delightful Dijon

I began by stamping the "HI" in the middle with Watermelon Wonder ink.  After cleaning my stamps, I stamped the "HI" in Smoky Slate ink on the rest of the card in a repeating pattern.  Next, I stamped the "hello" from the retiring Hi There stamp set in black ink.

Hihellocu

To make the focal point stand out more, I used the circle and rectangle layer stamps to create a haze of color.  I stamped the ink off first before stamping onto the card, otherwise it was too dark.

The Layered Letters Alphabet is a photopolymer stamp set so it is easy to see exactly where you are stamping.  I didn't even have to use a stamp-a-ma-jig to create the pattern!  You'll be able to add this stamp set to your collection on June 2nd.

Sprinkles of Life

Sprinklestreecu
The Sprinkles of Life stamp set is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorites. You'll be able to order it soon.....June 2nd is right around the corner.

FMS187

For today's card, I paired the stamps with this week's Freshly Make Sketch.  I cut the main panel with a rotary cutter to create the curved opening.  Next, I placed a 3" x 4" piece of Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper behind the curves so it would peak through.

Sprinklestree

There is so much variety in Sprinkles of Life ~ the tree, the clouds, and the flowers are all part of the set.  The greeting is from Lovely, Amazing You.

Because adhesive will show through on vellum card stock, I used a stapler to attach the vellum label to the front of the card.  I was still able to use a small amount of adhesive under the tree and clouds.

A list of all of the supplies used can be found at the end of this post.

Cotton Butterfly CTS#123

I've got a quick card share today featuring a layout from CAS(E) this sketch.

CTS_123

I know many of you have already purchased the Butterfly thinlits and I think you'll like this idea.  I cut multiple layers of butterflies from the new lighter-weight cotton paper.  This paper will be available in the upcoming catalog on June 2nd.

CTS

I paired the die-cut butterfly with stamps from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.

I also used the Decorative Dots and Large Polka Dots embossing folders to add depth and dimension to the background.

I've been stamping quite a bit lately and that creates a mess.  I've got lots of odds & ends lying around, so I challenged myself to use them to create a few cards.  All of the striped backgrounds were stamped with the 3 lines stamp from Painted Petals.  The only other stamp set I used is the retiring Hi There.

Blushingbridehey

The stripes were stamped in Tip Top Taupe.  The dots are also from Painted Petals and I stamped them in Gold Encore ink.

Minthello

I've been making envelopes with the 2015-2017 IN Color Envelope Paper and have some smaller leftover pieces.  These worked perfectly for the Tip Top Taupe layer and the Mint Macaron circle layer.  You can almost see the striped background showing through, but it adds a nice touch.

Minthi

The cute little "hi" was die cut from the Labels Card Thinlits with Gold Glimmer paper.  This set of dies will be retiring on June 2nd, so you might want to order it soon.

I'll have a complete list of supplies at the end of this post.

Sneak Peek: You've Got This

I spent the greater part of my Monday watching all the craft programming on HSN.  Yes, I broke down and bought a Minc (it'll be here Saturday).  After seeing everything foiled and glittered, I've been wanting to make a gold card.  I'm sure after my machine arrives, I'll be making lots of shiny things.

Goodthingsgold

The image and greeting stamps are from a new set called You've Got This.  I stamped them both in Versamark ink, then heat embossed with Gold embossing powder.  The gold-striped paper is from the NEW Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack.  I love the softer gold color in the stripes.  The dotted border was cut with a border die included with the Mini Treat Bag thinlits.

FMS Final 186-001

I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch for the layout.

  • In Color Card Stock of your choice:  5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
  • Whisper White:  3-3/4" x 5" and 2-3/4" x 3/4"
  • 3-1/2" Dotted Lace Trim Ribbon

We also created coordinating envelopes with the NEW 2015-2107 IN Color Envelope Paper and the Envelope punch board.  The paper was cut to 8" x 8" and we started the envelope on the 3-1/2" mark.

Time to Make the Doughnuts

OKAY.....I am seriously in Love with the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack.  I've already shown you cherries, cupcake sprinkles, and raindrops.  But what I was most excited about is the doughnut paper.  YES!  Doughnut paper.

Sweet1

The large doughnut was created using the Circles Collection Framelits and the Big Shot.  I punched one of the small doughnuts from the paper with a 1/2" circle punch and covered it with one of the Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers.  The greeting is from another new stamp set called You're So Sweet.

Sweetcu

The new catalog will launch in just a few weeks.  If you would like a hard copy and are not currently working with another demonstrator, I would be happy to send one to you.  Email me at [email protected] for more information.

  • Cucumber Crush Card Stock

Cherriescu
The stamp set is called Giggle Greetings and thankfully, it will be carried over into the next catalog.  It's such a fun set!  The frame was cut with the On Film Framelits.  Sadly, this item will be retired in just a few more weeks.

Cherries1

The bowl of cherries was stamped with Staz-On Black ink, then colored with a blender pen and Watercolor Wonder ink.  I used a piece of the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper to piece the bowl.  I added the stripes with a Tip Top Taupe marker.....another new In Color.
