Spring Pencil Holder & Card SP

Make this pencil holder out of recycled toilet paper tubes and bring Spring into your office or workplace. This hand-made piece will be the talk of the lunch break or party. Give those tubes a new look with a textured finish, and then cover it with pretty flowers and butterflies. Use different textures to bring those images ‘alive’. Great for a stamp camp, or as a class project.

Technique Tuesday ~ Bokeh

The designers at Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration are featuring one of my favorite techniques today.....BOKEH!!!  We've even got a great video tutorial available on the blog.

Bokehhappy2

I used Wild Wasabi, Pool Party, and Wisteria Wonder ink refills for the background.  Instead of sponging white craft ink, I stamped with the Dotty Angles stamp set to create the "light".  The greeting is from the Hello Life Photopolymer Stamp Set and was embossed with Black embossing powder.  I added a few Subtles Candy Dots to the bottom corner as a finishing touch.

Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration Color Challenge #20

We've got a great color challenge at Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration this week.  Click here to see what the other designers created and be sure to upload your own creations.

Color Challenge

I absolutely LOVED the embossed paper from Sale-a-Bration.  Now that it's no longer available, I decided to create my own with the Something Lacy background stamp and white embossing powder.  Once it cooled, I sponged Soft Sky and Pistachio Pudding ink over the paper, wiping the excess off the embossed area.  This is an old technique called Emboss Resist and it creates such a lovely background.

Butterflybasics1

The greeting and butterflies are from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.  I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits to create the fancy borders.

Painted Blooms Stationery Box

Hello April!  This month, I am a guest designer at Craft Project Central.  I'll be featuring all 10 April projects on my blog throughout the month and I'll even be giving away a FREE subscription once my project is posted.

This pretty project was designed by Christy Fulk.

Painted Blooms Stationery Box Collage SP

This pretty little stationery set holds everything you need for sending out cards. There’s a place for eight envelopes, eight cards, post-it notes, postage stamps, and a pen. This would make a great gift for Mother’s Day, Teacher Appreciation Day, and any other occasions you can think of. This tutorial teaches how to make the stationery box, and two different card designs. It features the lovely Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper and the coordinating stamp set, Painted Petals. This would make a great Mother’s Day class, too.

Sheltering Tree

One of the best stamp sets in the Occasions Mini Catalog is Sheltering Tree.  It has everything you need to make a card for any season or occasion.

Shelteringtree

A few weeks ago, I held a class using this stamp set exclusively.  I kept the cards super simple......a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card based with a layer of Whisper White or Very Vanilla card stock measuring 4" x 5-1/4".  Class attendees made 8 cards, 2 each of the 4 shown below.

Shelteringtrees

Because we only did simple 2-step stamping, everyone was finished with all the cards in less than an hour.  I think that is pretty amazing!

The other designers at Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration have featured this stamp set today.  Click here to see their designs.

Funny Cards

There's no foolin'.......the From the Herd stamp set is super funny!  Don't you just love the expressions on the animals' faces?  They crack me up!

Partyanimalscu

The designers at Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration are featuring Funny Cards today on the blog.  Be sure to hop over there to see the other hilarious creations.

I created a shaker card filled with confetti sequins.  The animals were stamped with Versamark and embossed with Black embossing powder.  I colored the image with an Aqua Painter and various ink refills.  The On Film framelits are perfect for creating a shaker frame.
