EOS Lip Balm Valentines

I'm not trying to freak you out, but did you know that Valentine's Day is next week?

The designers at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration have you covered.  Hop on over to the blog to see some great Valentines Day ideas.

My youngest is still in grade school, so that means there will be a Valentines party and card exchange.  There are only 7 kids in her class and most of the parents agree on limiting sugar/candy.  We (my daughter and I) are always on the lookout for creative non-candy treats and I think we've got a winner this year.

Are these not the cutest things ever?

The centers are those EOS lip balms that you can pick up at many stores.  We created the treats with the Silhouette Cameo, some Lori Whitlock files, and Stampin' Up! card stock.  I was able to put them together in a very short amount of time.

Lipbalmcollage2Each design has a hole in the middle.  You just unscrew the lip balm, place it through the hole, and then screw the top back on.  So simple!

My favorite is the bear!

Eosbutterflywm

Bella's favorite is the butterfly.  We'll probably add a little bling to this one.

Which one is your favorite?  Comment below and I'll be selecting one person to receive a Valentine from us.  I'll announce the winner on Saturday.

Floating Window Card

I am ALWAYS up for trying new things, so I was very excited about the Technique Tuesday post over at Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration.  The designers (including me) have created a variety of Floating Window cards.  If you haven't seen this technique before, we have a great video on the blog.

Floatingwindowmain

This looks like an ordinary card from the front, but several of the elements are "floating" in the middle of the card.  See for yourself...

I used the Wood You Be Mine Stamp Set and Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper for this card.  All of the supplies used are listed at the end of this post.  You can print the recipe and can view the items in my online store by clicking on them.

Be sure to FOLLOW me on social media.

On Facebook you can see a view of the inside of this card, as well as ALL the pictures I took at Leadership this past week.

And on Instagram, I shared my secret for cutting out my stamps quickly and easily.

So you want to be a Demonstrator?

Projectlifestarter

Last week I was in Orlando for the Stampin' Up! leadership conference.  I left knowing that I really want to grow my team this year.  As my plane was taxiing to the gate at the airport, I did what most people do....I turned on my cell phone.  I was absolutely delighted to see that one of my longtime friends is thinking about becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator because she loves the Project Life product line.

To help her out (and anyone else thinking about it), I designed a Starter Kit for Project Life enthusiasts.  My kit includes enough supplies to complete 2 albums.  Because our kits are completely customizable, you can easily switch out the card collections and accessory packs to create the perfect kit for you.

And because it is Sale-a-Bration, as a new demonstrator you can select one of the following options as an ADD-ON to your kit.  This makes it an even better value!

  • Demonstrator Business Website (free your first 2 months)
  • See and purchase new products first
  • Attend Stampin' Up! events
  • Only $99 to start your own business--select $125 worth of product for your kit

If you are ready to take the leap, just visit my website to sign up.  If you have additional questions, I encourage you to email me at [email protected].  I've been a demonstrator for 13 years and I'm more than happy to help you get started.

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Color Challenge

We have a brand new Color Challenge for February on Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration and we would love to have you play along!  I've seen this color combo in a lot of stores--on clothing, accessories, and home decor.  It must be very popular right now.

February-SSINKCC18

This card just kind of took on a life of it's own, even though I was going for a clean and simple look.

Colorchallenge

I started with the background piece.  I used the dots stencil and the Coastal Cabana blendabilities to create ombre, watercolor-ish looking dots.  I really like the way it turned out and I'm sure I'll be experimenting with it some more.

Then, I needed a great focal point.  I believe I've developed a new technique that I'm calling "you should've stopped while you were ahead" or YSSWYSA.....and you can say that any way you like.

  • Dusted off the Perfect Pennants stamp set and die
  • Tied the new Sale-a-Bration ribbon around the end
  • Punched a couple of hearts from vellum and card stock
  • Folded and fringe-cut a paper doily
  • Created a blob (?) of baker's twine
  • Added a button to cover the center of my blob

Eventually, I did have to stop.  It was beginning to get out of control.  However, I kind of like it.  What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to add your card to our Color Challenge link up.  We would love for you to play along!
