For Peeps' Sake

It seems like this year is just flying by!  I'm not ready for Easter/Spring cards, but I know it will be here soon.  So even though the weather is snowy and cold, I'm trying hard to think spring.

Mojo386The Mojo Monday sketch this week worked perfectly for a card featuring For Peeps' Sake.  I love all the cute chicks in this stamp set, don't you?

Peepsake

The cute background paper is from the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper.   You can get it free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration.  It's absolutely perfect for any spring craft project!

Stamp Set Focus: Big On You

Today over on Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration, we are featuring cards made with the Big On You stamp set.  To see what the other designers have created, click here.

I love EVERYTHING about this stamp set.....the greetings, the use of different fonts, but mostly the size!  Because these stamps are so large, they really lend themselves to clean and simple cards.

Swell

I had originally planned for this to be a Bokeh-technique card.  However, when I finished the watercolor step, I really liked it as it was and decided to stop.  I used shimmery white card stock and the following ink colors:  Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, and Smoky Slate (turned purple-ish).  After the paper dried, I inked up the stamp with Versamark ink, sprinkled on Black embossing powder, and heat it with the heat tool.

Sneak Peek ~ For Being You

I've been a bit under the weather this week and I've really missed stamping.  With a little more energy today, I decided to play along with CAS(E) this Sketch.  I really love this week's sketch.

And nothing will get you in a stamping mood faster than new stamps.....

I colored each of the letters with Blendabilities, then applied a light coat of Crystal Effects to make them shine.

Monday Montage 38

Mondaymontage6

Welcome to the Monday Montage blog hop!  Every other Monday, my friends and I share inspiring projects.  Be sure to visit all 10 stops.....you don't want to miss anything!

My local demonstrators met today to stamp and I just love this card that one of my downline made.

Susie

I've been trying to come up with an idea for the Freshly Made Sketch this week and it looks like Susie's card has inspired me.

FMS174

I used the fringe scissors to create "grass" as the diagonal aspect of the card and the bunny from Cheerful Critters is the perfect focal point.

Bunnypopup

The most difficult thing was figuring out how to make "eggs".  I ended up using the wing from the Bird Builder punch.  The bunny was colored with Blendabilities.

Bunnycu

I'm always inspired when I meet with my demonstrator friends.  What inspires you?

Hello Sunshine

Got the winter blues?
Today at Stylin' Stampin' INKSpiration, we've created a delightful assortment of HAPPY cards.  Be sure to check them all out....they'll definitely put a smile on your face.

For my card, I decided to use a sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

CTS_Sketch_110

I paired the sketch with the So You stamp set.  You've probably looked right past this stamp set in the Occasions catalog, but it is one of my favorites!

Hellosunshine

I simply stamped onto Designer Series Paper and then hand-cut the individual elements.  To get the proper placement on the "sun", I stamped directly onto the Whisper White card stock then added the Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper.

Sunshinecu

I used one of the Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy stickers for the center of the sun and popped up the largest cloud with dimensionals.

We had such a hard winter last year, so I really feel for my friends in the Northeast that have been getting hammered.  I'll probably send this card to one of them.....once they get a little break.

If you didn't notice, I've done a little tweaking to my blog.  Let me know what you like (or don't like) about the new design.  Nothing is set in stone and I'm always looking for ways to improve.

A Happy Heart

Some of my friends and family are snowed in today, so I was inspired to make something cheerful & sunny.  I decided to use this week's Mojo Monday sketch for the layout and it worked perfectly.

Bright
I used 1/4" strips of cardstock to create the "rainbow".  The starburst stamp from Kindness Matters created the perfect sunshine for my greeting.  The papers are from the Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper stack.....it's not just for babies!

Brightcu
And one of my favorite elements on this card is the epoxy heart created with the Itty Bitty Accents punch and epoxy stickers.  It's super shiny!

I hope this card brings a little sunshine to you!

Chocolate Cards

Chocolatecards

So, these cards aren't made of chocolate......sorry!  I loved all the greetings from the new Lovely, Amazing You photopolymer stamp set, but I was really looking forward to the "love you more than chocolate" saying.

Layou
Lovely, Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set

I started by using aquapainters to watercolor on watercolor paper with crumb cake, soft suede, and early espresso re-inkers.  I found that it was best to use a small amount of water when using shades of brown.  Too much water caused the colors to break down so that there was a lot of red, blue, and yellow mixed in.

Chocolateheart

The next card is based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  You can see it here.

Chocolatemojo

On both cards, I stamped the greeting with Versamark, then heat embossed with Early Espresso and White embossing powder.  If you'd like to purchase any of the items used to make these cards, a complete list of products is below.

I wanted to create a very soft, romantic card for Valentine's Day.  I started with Shimmery White card stock and die cut 3 rows of hearts with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.  I added a small amount of color to the bottom 2 rows with an aquapainter and Pink Pirouette ink refills.

Heartbloghopside

Next, I stamped "Love" from the So You stamp set in Pink Pirouette.  I layered a second piece of Shimmery White card stock behind the die cut piece, before placing it on a Pink Pirouette card base.

Heartblogcu

The focal point was created with strips of Silver Foil, a die-cut arrow, punched hearts, and some white baker's twine that was separated into individual strands.

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Card Sketch 18

We have a fun card sketch for you over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration today.  Be sure to visit the blog to see what the other designers have created and don't forget to add your own card to our link up.

February-SSINKCS18

I've been playing around with watercolor effects and decided to try something new on this card.  I started by spritzing Shimmery White card stock with water.  Then, I put several drops of Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Pumpkin Pie re-inkers onto a small plate.  I picked up each color with an aquapainter and just touched the color to the edge of the paper, repeating several times.

Wchappyfront
The colors will run together and create a softer, muted look.  After the paper was dried, I stamped the "YOU MAKE ME" from the Crazy About You stamp set with Memento Black ink.  The "happy" was die-cut from Basic Black card stock with the Hello You thinlits die and the Big Shot.

Welcome to the Monday Montage blog hop!  Every other Monday, my friends and I share inspiring projects.  Be sure to visit all 10 stops.....you don't want to miss anything!

I've been seeing some gorgeous watercolor cards on Pinterest lately.  At leadership, they talked about using Shimmery White card stock for watercoloring and I could not wait to get home to try some new techniques.Butterflycardside

For this card, I applied drops of reinker with an aquapainter to the center of the card.  The colors I used were Melon Mambo, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, and Pumpkin Pie.  Next, I spritzed the entire front of the card with water to get the colors to run.

Butterflycardfront

Once the card stock was dry, I die cut the butterfly with the Big Shot from the center of the watercolored area.  I die-cut a second butterfly from coaster board, layered the butterflies together and popped it up with dimensionals.

Butterflycu

It's really fun mixing these colors and it was difficult to stop at just one.  You'll definitely want to check back later for more watercolor cards.
