Thanks for joining us on Monday Montage Blog Hop!  Be sure to visit all 10 stops.  There are lots of goodies to see this week.

WintersasOn Sunday, I hosted a Winter Stamp-a-Stack for my local customers.  Each guest made 8 cards, 2 each of the designs you see above.  Today, I'll share details about my favorite card.  You'll want to check back later in the week for more information about the other 3 cards.

Whitechristmas

I just LOVE the White Christmas stamp set!  Because it is a photopolymer set, you can see exactly where you are placing your stamps.  It made it very easy to position the deer in the perfect spot.

I used a White Craft pad and a sponge dauber to add the snow to the ground.  The Crumb Cake blendabilites were used to color the deer and the trees.  And finally, I used the white gel pen to add snow to the tree branches and randomly on the ground.

Thankful album

So you've probably seen the latest Project Life by Stampin' Up! albums in the 6" x 8" size.  I love this smaller-sized album, but the plain cover was just so BLAH!  Don't you agree?

Expressoalbum

Now I know that the cover is plain by design so that we can customize it ourselves.  My typical reaction is to do nothing  because I'm fearful I'll mess it up.  Anyone else feel that way?  Well, let me put your fears to rest.....

Here are my tips to get you started:

  1. JUST DO IT!  Don't be afraid to add your artistic touches to the album.  It will definitely look better if it is embellished.
  2. Think of it as a card, scrapbook page or canvas.....you are just working on a different surface and possibly a different size than what you are familiar with.  It is a blank slate that you can use with mixed media techniques such as stamping, painting, or stenciling.
  3. Add embellishments such as paper, buttons, ribbon, and die-cuts.

ThankfulFor my album, I started by applying modeling paste with the stripes decorative mask.  For a quick tutorial on how to do this, click here.  I did this very haphazardly to give it bit of a rough look.

After the modeling paste had dried, I added several pieces of designer series paper.  These were just scraps that I had leftover from other projects.  I laid them out until I found a layout that was acceptable.   I used hot glue to adhere the paper, but you can use anything with a strong hold.

And finally I added the die-cut "thankful", a gold button, and some burlap ribbon to tie it all together.

I plan to fill this album with pictures of my family and friends, and all the other things I am thankful for.   It seems  many people participate in a thankful month during October.  Wouldn't this be a great way to document everything that you are thankful for?

I have already finished my next album cover and will be sharing it here on Wednesday along with a new class offering.  Be sure to bookmark this page so that you don't miss it!

It's time for you to hop along to see what Wonderful Wendy has in store for you next.  And don't miss out....there are 10 stops along the hop and I know you'll find inspiration from each of these very talented women.

It's Monday Montage time and we've got 10 great blogs for you to visit. We always look forward to sharing our latest creations with all of you.

Hellofall3

It is officially my favorite time of year.  I lived in Texas for most of my twenties and really missed Fall while I was there.  So this card is for anyone that is missing out on the pumpkins, mums, colorful leaves, and crisp autumn air.

It's time for another Monday Montage Blog Hop!  Make sure you check out all 10 blogs for some amazing projects.  These girls always inspire me.

I love Advent calendars.....probably because it cuts down on the "How Much Longer" conversations with my kids.  It always helps to have a visual.  So you can imagine how excited I was to see the 25 Days stamp set and this project in the new catalog.

25

I decided to stamp the images on Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Crumb Cake cardstock squares with the Memento Black ink pad just as it was shown above.  Then, I adhered a magnetic sheet to the back of each square and placed the squares over the openings of a mini muffin pan.

Muffin
There is enough room in each opening for a small piece of candy or gift.  I think this would be a perfect gift for my neighbors....I'll simply add a muffin mix for them to enjoy!

If you would like to see my original version of the Muffin Tin Advent calendar, click here.  It's one of my most popular posts on my blog and apparently it's pretty popular on Pinterest, too!

Now you may be worried that the 25 Days stamp set is not very versatile, but why not use it to created customized birthday cards?  My daughter turned 8 and my son turned 17 this month, so I used their favorite colors for inspiration.  Here are a couple of "real-life" cards for when you need that last-minute birthday card.

Monday Montage 28

Welcome to the Monday Montage blog hop!  I've had a whirlwind of a weekend, so I had to whip up some quick cards for the blog hop.  I kept them very simple.....just one stamp set, Whisper White card stock, some Designer Series Paper, and a few new accessories from the Holiday catalog.  You can view the complete supply list at the end of this post.

Sketch

For the cut-outs, I used the Seasonal Snapshot Project Life Digital Download and my Silhouette Cameo.  This download has so many great SVG images that will be perfect for Fall, Winter, & Holiday cards.

Leaf2

I placed strips of washi tape on the bottom layer of the card and popped up the top layer with dimesnionals.  The greeting is from the Hostess Good Greetings stamp set.

Snow2

For this card, I popped up the negative snowflakes over a snowflake-patterned paper.  The sequins and silver snowflake really make this card sparkle and shine.

You'll definitely want to check out the other 9 stops on the hop.  Click forward to see the amazing Wendy or back for our Artisan, Kaitlyn.

Festival of Trees

  Tree3

Sometimes I get excited about the smallest things.......like a tree punch!  When I saw the Festival of Trees bundle, I was ecstatic to see that there was a punch for all those trees.  But the really neat thing is that the stamp set is a photopolymer which means you can see where you are stamping all of the the tree decorations.  It is so easy to get perfect alignment and then you don't even have to cut it out!

CTS_91

I chose this sketch to create a very simple card featuring this stamp set, punch, and a few more of my new favorites from the Holiday catalog.

Tree1

Many of the stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog feature greetings for the inside of the card, too.  This really takes the guesswork out of what to write in your cards.

All of the supplies for this card are listed at the end of the post and the links will take you directly to my online store.

Get Your Santa On

There are 2 Santa-themed stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog.  I prefer my Santas to be cute and a little on the chubby side, as opposed to dancing and showing a little too much body hair (see the Visions of Santa stamp set).  Obviously, I opted for the Get Your Santa On stamp set.

Santa3

If you are ever in a design rut, it can be helpful to CASE---copy and share.  I am also a HUGE fan of using sketches.  For this card, I used elements of a card shown on page 30 of the Holiday catalog and combined it with this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Santa1

The result is a simple but attractive card.  I colored the Santa image with the Blendabilities markers---Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate, and the Skin Tone Assortment.  I really love the skin tones and how easy it is to add just a little pink hue to his cheeks and nose.

Are you ready to start your Christmas cards?

Well, I've started to add classes to my Fall calendar.  If you are local to Kokomo, Indiana, you'll want to check them out here.
