A Kiss for You

Here is one more card that I created for Kathy Alt's punch art swap at convention.  You'll never guess how I made this kiss!

Kisscard
The "kiss" was punched from Silver Glimmer paper with the Blossom Petals Builder Punch.  Can you see it?

Punch
The little flag was created with the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and the Bitty Banners Framelits.

The layout for the card was inspired by the wedding card on page 39 of the annual catalog.

Tomorrow is a big day in the Stampin' Up! world.   The Holiday Mini catalog goes live.  MDS 2 will be available.  And a great recruiting promotion!

It's almost like Christmas!  Contact me today if you need a Holiday Mini or would like more information about joining the Stamp Docs team.

Masculine Punch Art

My convention roomie, Kathy Alt, hosts a punch art swap at convention each year.  What kind of friend would I be if I didn't participate?  In fact, I actually made 2 cards for her swap this year.  I'm sharing the first one with you today.

Wrenchcard

I absolutely love the Chevron embossing folder and I could probably use it on every single card I make (I won't, though). I used just a small strip of the Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP from the Holiday Mini.....see?  It's not just for Halloween.

Wrenchcu1

This part of the wrench was created by punching the Word Window punch first, then a 1-1/4" circle punch out of Basic Gray card stock.  I also sponged all the edges with Basic Gray ink.

Wrenchcu2

The end of the wrench was created with an itty bitty scallop punch and a 3/4" circle punch.

Wrenchcu3

The white label was die cut with the Apothecary Accents framelits.  The greeting is from the Delightful Dozen stamp set and I added 3 silver mini brads.

Isn't this a great card for the handy men in your life?  You could easily change the greeting into a birthday or thinking of you card.

Great Googly Ghouls

If you've followed my blog for awhile, you already know that I love Halloween.  And if you're new, well now you're going to see!

Swapping is one of the highlights of any Stampin' Up! event.  For one of my organized swaps at convention, I decided to use the new Googly Ghouls stamp set.

Boocu

There is a witch, a mummy, little frankenstein, spider, and bat in this stamp set.  The fun thing is, you can add our new googlies (adhesive-backed googly eyes) to all of them!  They are just too cute!

Boocard

The Designer Series Paper I used is also from the Holiday Mini catalog.  It is called Howlstooth & Scaringbone.  Don't you just love that name?

Boocards

You can see that I mixed & matched the pattern papers for my cards.  But this paper isn't just for Halloween......tomorrow, I'll share a masculine card with you featuring this paper and you can use it for any occasion!

And while we are on the subject of Halloween, a spooktacular offer was announced at convention and I just squealed with delight when I saw it!

Howloweentray

Back from Convention

Wow! Convention always goes so quickly....it's hard to believe it's over already.  I flew out of Salt Lake on Saturday evening and went to St. Louis.  My kids were staying with their grandparents, so I picked them up and then drove 5 hours back to Indiana.  I've spent today unpacking, doing laundry, and going grocery shopping.....no time for stamping, yet.

I always return from convention inspired, excited, and motivated.  I've got tons of samples to share with you and I'm working on several video and written tutorials that you are going to love.

If you follow me on Facebook, you already know that I was not selected for the Artisan Design Team.  I'll admit that I was disappointed at first, but surprisingly, that was followed by a huge sense of relief.  Weird, huh?  I stress out whenever I have to create "on demand".  To commit to making at least 4 projects per month for Stampin' Up over the next year was really going to put pressure on me that, let's face it.....I don't need right now.  Thank you to everyone that congratulated me on being a finalist.  It really meant alot to me.

All of the finalists and Design Team members met up at convention for a swap.  These ladies are so amazingly creative and I am just so honored to be among them.  And you should see my swaps from this group.....INCREDIBLE!

You'll notice that I'm not smiling in the picture.  With the Bell's Palsy, I actually look worse when I smile.  Trust me...it's better to not make any expression at all.  So if you saw me at convention and I didn't look happy, that is why.  I was definitely smiling on the inside.

Here is a picture of my Artisan entries on display at convention.  The other finalists and I will be having a blog hop featuring all of our projects in early August, so I'll be able to give you more details about each project soon.

Tomorrow I return to work, but I'll be back on Wednesday to start sharing some of the swap cards that I created for convention.  I used many products from the upcoming Holiday mini catalog.  If you haven't received a copy and you don't have a Stampin' Up demonstrator, email me and I will send you one.  You are going to LOVE all the goodies for the holidays!

Woo! Hoo!

My bags are packed and I'm ready to go.  It's convention time in Salt Lake City.  The week is just jammed with activities, so it will probably be difficult to update my blog.  However, I will be posting to my FACEBOOK page while I am away.  Be sure to LIKE my page to follow my convention adventure.

I know I've said it before, but I really can't wait to show you my Artisan Award contest entries.  All of the finalists will be meeting up at convention to swap cards.  This was probably the hardest swap I've ever participated in.....there is so much talent in this group and I certainly did not want to disappoint anyone.  I decided to recreate one of my contest entries with current product.  Here is a sneak peek:

OOOOOOOOOHhhhhhhhh!  What's that?  New product? Yep!

The Holiday Mini catalog will launch on August 1st and it is just packed with fun stamp sets, dies, papers, etc.  If you would like a copy mailed to you and you do not currently have a demonstrator, send me an email at [email protected].  I'll make sure you get one!

Have a fabulous week!
